Srinagar 31 July (KNB): In South Kashmir Dachigam encounter, fought between militants and security forces, a Pakistani origin militant, Mohd Ismal Alvi, affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has been killed along with his another associate.
IGP kashmir Vijay Kumar on Saturday said that a Pakistani militant Alvi also known as Lamboo/Adnan has been killed in the Pulwama encounter along with the one whose identification is being ascertained.
The encounter had started in the Nagberan Tarsar Dachigam Forest area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama during which officials had confirmed the killing of two militants.
After the ascertaining of the JeM affiliated militant Alvi’s identification in today’s encounter, IGP Kashmir congratulated the police and army.
IGP said that Mohd Ismal Alvi alias Lamboo/Adnan was from family of Masood Azhar. “He was involved in conspiracy and planning of Lethpora Pulwama attack and figured in chargesheet produced by NIA,” said police quoting IGP-K.
He further said that Alvi was top most Pakistani militant affiliated with proscribed militant outfit JeM who was killed in today’s encounter. “Identification of second militant is being ascertained,” IGP-K added. (KNB)
