Srinagar 26 July (KNB): One unidentified militant has been killed in an encounter which started between militants and security forces on Monday afternoon in south Kashmir Kulgam’s Aharbal area, as per officials.
The official said that the encounter started in the Aharbal area of Kulgam after the carrying out of the Cordon and Search Operation by a joint team of Army, Police and CRPF.
The searches were carried out after the specific inputs about the presence of militants in the suspected area. However, the encounter started when the searching parties were fired upon by the holed up militants.
Following the brief gunfight between two sides, one unidentified militant has been killed by security forces, said officials.
It is pertinent to mention that the operation was still going on in the area after the slain militant’s confirmation by the officials. (KNB)
