Srinagar 03 August (KNB): In an encounter in North Kashmir’s Chandaji area of Bandipora, one militant has been killed by the security forces, said police on Tuesday morning.
As per officials, the encounter started in Chandaji area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora on Tuesday early morning after specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Later, the searches around the suspected spot were carried out by security forces, who were fired upon by the holed up militants, which triggered the encounter.
In the encounter, one militant has been killed so far and the operation is still underway. The slain militant, as per sources, is believed to be a foreigner, Babar Ali, a resident of Pakistan’s Punjab.
Regarding the encounter update, police also confirmed that one militant has been killed and stated that the searches are still going on. (KNB)
