Srinagar 7 May (KNB): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar, SSP Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary and other CRPF officers on Friday visited Jamia Masjid, Dargah and city centre Lal Chowk to review the lockdown arrangements amid the observing of Jumat-ul-Vida.
According to police, the visit to religious sites and mosques by the IGP along with SSP Srinagar and other CRPF officials was done to see the security and lockdown arrangements.
In this regard police said that “IGP Kashmir along with SSP Srinagar & CRPF officers visited several places including Jamia Masjid, Dargah Hazratbal & Lal Chowk in Srinagar city and reviewed security lockdown arrangements in view of Jumat-ul-Vida.”
It is pertinent to mention that a strict vigil was again to be observed from security forces on the movement of vehicles and people in Srinagar.
As the Covid positive cases have picked up speed in UT of late, the administration had decided to impose lockdown, which was extended to May 10 and the result of which is clearly to be seen on the ground. (KNB)
