On Guru Nanak Jayanti, PM Says Centre to Repeal Three Agricultural Laws

Srinagar 19 November (KNB): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Nation Friday through video conference and said that they have decided to repeal the three agricultural laws.

As per an official communique, he said that in the Parliament session starting later this month the constitutional process to repeal these three agricultural laws would be completed.

The announcement to repeal the three contentious farm laws was made by the PM while addressing the nation. The three farm laws, introduced last year, were protested by farmers across the country and have been seeking to withdraw the same.

However, during the address to the nation, the Prime Minister wished the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. He also expressed happiness that after a gap of one and a half years, the Kartarpur Sabih Corridor has now reopened.

Pertinently after the PM’s announcement, Farmer leader & National spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union ( BKU ) Rakesh Tikait tweeted that the agitation will not be withdrawn immediately.

“We will wait for the day when agricultural laws will be repealed in Parliament. Along with MSP, the government should also discuss other issues of farmers,” Tikait added in his tweet.  (KNB)
