Srinagar 11 August (KNB): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha would preside over the function and take salute at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar on Independence Day, directs an official communique from government to both Divisional Commissioners of J&K.
At Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to LG would preside over the main function and take salute there, as per the official communique.
“Other Advisor(s) and Mayor(s) of both capital cities and DDC chairpersons of Jammu and Kashmir shall attend the main function in their respective cities,” the communique reads.
It further said that the DDC chairpersons shall attend the function and take salutes on Independence Day at their concerned District Headquarters; BDC chairperson/ President Municipal Council/Committees at respective Block headquarters and at respective Municipal Headquarters, in case Block Headquarters and Municipal Headquarters are same, two separate functions shall be organised.
Further, SDM/Tehsildar/Senior most civil officer would preside function and take salute at respective sub-divisional/Tehsil Headquarters in case BDC Chairperson/President Municipal council/committee is not available, the communique reads. (KNB)
