Not Just Development but Prosperity with Development Our Aim: J&K Lt Governor

‘I call upon each and every youth, boy and girl, to come forward and join this journey of progress’ says Sinha

Srinagar 27 October (KNB): Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha in a press conference held at Auditorium Complex, Raj Bhawn said that the main priority of the government is to empower the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

J&K Bank Chairman, prior to inviting the Lt Governor of J&K on the podium, with reference to the programmes ‘Back-to-Village’ and ‘My Town My Pride said, “It is the first time there is total coordination between the government officials and the bankers. In the last 15 days there has been a lot of positive activity”.

While interacting with the media persons, the Lt Governor highlighted the achievements made in J&K on the developmental front in recent times.


J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said, “I have understood the 3 important things about development, prosperity, progress and people. In our last meet, I had claimed progress and so we have done it so far”.


“Not just development, but happiness with development is what we want for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The work that our different departments have been doing since August and the work that is still going on is an example of our commitment”, he said.

“It is a great delight to inform you that today we mark the occasion of sanctioning of over 10000 cases under ‘Back-to-Village 3’ self-employment programme, economic package and ‘My Town My Pride,” Sinha said.

He added, “Till date, total received applications with J&K Bank are 15309, pension relation applications are 10,828, and the amount that has been reimbursed is 1000 crore so far”.

Lt Governor stated that, “The occasion highlights the commitment of the government to empower the youth which is one of the main priorities of my government”.

“During Back to Village 3 we had taken a target of covering 2 youth in each panchayat who were in need of financial assistance for self employment”, he said.


“I’m happy to announce that we have provided nearly 1000 cases and in order to mark the occasion, 1 person from each district of J&K is being handed over pension labor,” Lt Governor said.

He further said, “ I call upon each and every youth, boy and girl, to come forward and join this journey of progress and prosperity”.

Regarding the convenience of people to access bank related schemes, he said, “The old hectic ways are gone and we have made new forms, under which the bank officials are reaching out to the people by knocking on their door steps. And the formalities regarding the same are completed quickly”.

He further added, “I also call upon the bank to not only provide financial assistance but also provide the hand holding to the young boys and girls who work for self-employment”. (KNB)
