No Confidence Motion Not Registered on Time; Will Move to Court: Junaid Mattoo

‘Parvaiz Qadri still in charge as Deputy Mayor SMC says Gazanfar Ali

Srinagar 2 November (KNB):Former Mayor Junaid Mattoo has accused the authority for not registering the No-Confidence Motion on time and says will move to court regarding it.

Former Mayor Junaid Mattoo didn’t hold up and said that the No-Confidence motion against Parvaiz Qadri was moved on 23rd October and at that time the law required 35 corporators to pass the move.

“The No-Confidence was moved against Parvaiz Qadri on 23rd of October and at the time the law stated that only 35 corporators are required to pass the motion, The move supposed to be registered within 48 hours which clearly wasn’t done, due the amendments in the law which were made on 26th October changed the required number of corporates to 53,  I’ll move to the Court regarding this.”

Parvaiz Qadri is still in charge as the Deputy Mayors for SMC, as the Voting on No-confidence motion against him concluded without sufficing the required number, said SMC Commissioner Gazanfar Ali.

The Commissioner SMC said that Qadri is going to remain in power of the post, as the required number of corporators against him, which is 53, didn’t show up during the voting on No-Confidence motion at the corporate hall of SMC.

On 26th October the law to get the No-confidence motion passed was changed to requiring 53 corporates, which earlier was only 35 corporates only. (KNB)
