Jammu, Oct 12 (KNB): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential property in Danihama area of Hazratbal in Srinagar in connection with a cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), officials said.
According to an NIA handout, the property, located at Khasra No. 315, Village Danihama, belongs to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas. The agency said the attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the Director General, NIA.
The investigation has established a link between the property and the alleged terror conspiracy, with the premises reportedly used to harbour Pakistani terrorists and conceal incriminating material connected with the network, the agency said.
The case, registered as RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU, was initially lodged as FIR No. 24/2026 on March 31, 2026, at Police Station Zakoora in Srinagar before being taken over by the NIA.
The agency said its investigation had revealed an alleged network of local overground workers (OGWs) working in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support for Pakistani terrorists to carry out attacks against government establishments, security forces and civilians.
During a search conducted at Mir’s residential premises in Danihama on April 6, 2026, two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, were reportedly detected. The NIA said the two were allegedly associated with LeT.
An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered and seized during the search, according to the agency.
The NIA alleged that Mir had knowingly provided his residential premises as a safe haven for the terrorists.
The investigation is continuing to identify other alleged OGWs, facilitators and individuals linked to Pakistan-based handlers as part of efforts to uncover the wider terror-support network, the agency added.(KNB)
