National Lok Addat Held in Budgam

Budgam 12 March (KNB): 1st National Lok Adalat was held in District Budgam and was inaugurated by Mohammad Ashraf Malik-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam, at District Court Complex Budgam

In a statement issued by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Budgam that each Court had identified cases for the Lok Adalat beforehand and same were placed before eight (8) different benches constituted by DLSA Budgam for settlement in National Lok Adalat.

Nevertheless, Bench No. 1, comprised of Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik (PDJ Budgam) and Ms Uzma Amin (JMIC Budgam). Bench No. 2 comprised of Mr. Malik Shabir Ahmad (CJM Budgam) and Ms. Fozia Paul (Secretary DLSA Budgam). Bench No.3 comprised of Mr. Jehangir Ahmad Bakshi (Sub Judge Budgam) and Advocate G.M Banday. Bench No. 4 comprised of Ms Tabasum QadirParray( Sub Judge Chadoora) and Ms. Asma Zehra (Panel Lawyer) Bench No. 5 comprised of Mr. Mohammad Ishtiyaq Allam (JMIC Chadoora) and Mr. Adil Hameed Paul (Panel Lawyer). Bench No. 6 Comprised of Mr. Javid Ahmad Parray-JMIC Beerwah and Mr. Naseer Ahmad (President, Bar Association Beerwah). Bench No. 7 comprised of Ms Danista Shafi ( JMIC Magam) and Mr. Perzada Aftab Ahmad Shah (President, Bar Association Magam). Bench No. 8 comprised of Ms Farha (JMIC Chararisharief) and Mr. Mashooq Ahmad (President, Bar Association Chararisharief). Cases for settlement included cases of Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Land Compensation, Matrimonial, Tenancy, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters.
Nonetheless, a total number of 10,000 pre litigation matters were taken up amongst which 9820 were settled. It included pre litigation petitions, PDD matters, bank recovery matters, PHE cases, Social Welfare Schemes, matrimonial disputes, land disputes, BSNL cases, municipality cases and cases under social welfare schemes including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Physically Challenged Persons, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, National Family Pension Scheme and also cases under Pradhan Mantri Awaaz Youjna etc. These schemes benefitted almost 60 thousand beneficiaries. Moreover, an amount of Rs. 2.70 crores has been realized in pre litigations matters.
Furthermore, a total number of 500 post litigation matters were taken up for their amicable settlement. Out of which 184 matters were settled including civil, criminal compoundable, cheque bounce and matrimonial cases.
Nonetheless, a total number of 10,500 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 10003 matters were settled. Besides, an amount of Rs. 4cr. 43 lacs was realized in toto in the settlement.
