Jammu, Jan 18 (KNB): The Deputy Speakers Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi Thursday asked the government to conduct a thorough probe into the mysterious death of a minor girl in Hiranagar area of district Kathua. Meanwhile, Chairperson J&K State Commission for Women during her visit to the bereaved family directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter.
Pertinently, an eight-year-old girl, who went missing last week, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her native village in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday expressed her anguish over the “gruesome” murder of eight-year-old girl, belonging to nomadic Bakerwal community in Kathua district.
As soon as the House resumed for day’s proceedings, MLA Vikar Rasool Wani, joined by several legislators, raised the issue in the House. Gurezi also directed the government to come up with a statement in the house in this regard.
Meanwhile a team of J&K State commission for women visited the remote village of Rasanaa Hiranagar district Kathua to find the facts about the alleged incident of molestation and murder of a young girl. Chairperson Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor expressed shock and shame over the heinous crime and directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter as soon as possible. Commission also enquired about the medical report which is lying with the Medical authorities of Kathua.
Chairperson assured the parents that no stone will be unturned in finding the facts and vowed to take serious action against the culprit. (KNB)
