Bandipora, July 22 (KNB): Even as the body of a 14-year-old boy, identified as Amir Khatana, son of late Mehboob Khatana of Bonibal Tangath, was recovered from Guzarbal Nallah on Wednesday, his mother, Gudi Begum, remains missing, prompting an intensified search operation.
Tehsildar Bandipora, Firdous Ahmad, confirmed to Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) that rescue teams have launched a search operation to trace the missing woman.
Officials, assisted by rescue personnel, are carrying out extensive searches in and around the nallah, while police have initiated legal proceedings into the recovery of the minor’s body. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
Meanwhile, the administration has once again urged people to avoid venturing near rivers, nallahs and other water bodies as water levels continue to rise due to continuous rainfall across the district.
