More than 4000 Kashmiri’s reached home safely: Reports

Srinagar, Feb 20(KNB): More than 4000 Kashmiri students, businessmen and labroures from Jammu, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Delhi and other outer states had reached back home safely in the wake of threats made to them after the Pulwama attack.




The entire mainland in India had been burning in rage, massive protests and candlelight marches were held in different parts of the country against the Pulwama attack that left 49 CRPF personnel killed, while curfew was imposed in Jammu city following violence during demonstrations there.

So far, attacks on Kashmiri students and general public have been reported across India while many kashmiri youths studying outside the valley alleged that they were harassed and asked by their landlords to vacate accommodations.

A student, Asif said that he was attacked by some unknown persons when he was returning to home,
“some how I managed to escape from there and reached back to home,” he further said.

Over the past three days, nearly 500 students arrived Kashmir from outer states while many others are on the run from violent mobs, some of them hiring cabs while others booking flight to Srinagar to reach home safely.

The traders, shopkeepers took out a protest march to condemn the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and other parts of the country. They demanded safety of Kashmiri traders and students outside the Valley.

The community of Sikhs rose above religion and caste, by setting up free kitchens and accommodation in Gurudwaras for Kashmiri students and general public, after their dwellings were pelted by stones and hundreds of vehicles set ablaze.

A local Kashmiri trader stuck in Jammu said, “The Sikhs have made it easy, like always. They make us believe that humanity exists. Our vehicles were set ablaze and stones are thrown on our rented rooms after the Pulwama attack ,we had no food, no accommodation, our Sikh brothers came forward and arranged langar, open Gurduwaras for us.”

Pertinently, Former IG  traffic Basanth Kumar Rath again win hearts of Kashmiri people as he rescued twenty Kashmiri families and drove them to safer places in Jammu.(KNB)
