Militants Likely Flee From Encounter Site in Srinagar 

Srinagar 18 September (KNB): Militants trapped in an encounter site at Noor Bagh area of Srinagar fled from the spot on Saturday afternoon, as per police. 

Officials said that the Cordon and Search Operation was carried out by a small group of police in the area after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

However, the holed militants fired upon the police team during the search operation but it did not result in the encounter as the militants fled from the area.

The officials said that the militants dropped one pistol and one AK47 and later likely fled from the encounter spot. 

However after the incident, the cordon expansion was increased by the forces and searched the area to track down the fleeing militants. 

In this regard, police said that “A small team of Police while laying cordon came under fire from militants in Noorbagh Srinagar. Seems militants managed to escape after dropping their #weapons 01 pistol & 01 AK 47. However reinforcement of Police & CRPF expanded the cordoned area. Search going on.” (KNB)
