Srinagar 31 December (KNB): With slight modification in yesterday’s prediction, Meteorological department Srinagar on Friday said that the main activity of already predicted snow/rain spell of moderate-intensity could be observed during 5th – 6th January with light snow over higher reaches of Kashmir during 2nd and 3rd January.
As the MeT official had yesterday told that a moderate intensity snow/rain would be likely in J&K and Ladakh during 4th-6th January, the weather forecast was slightly changed by the official on Friday and said that the main activity of the snow/rain would be likely during 5th-6th January with heavy snowfall expected at some places during the period.
It was further said that there would be a light snowfall over higher reaches of Kashmir during the 2nd-3rd of January and warned of disruption in air and road traffic.
Regarding the temperature, it was said that there would be colder days and warmer nights from January 2nd onwards.
The MeT official also said that the weather prediction is based on today’s observation and might be modified in the coming days. (KNB)
