182 Militants Killed in 100 Operations in 2021: DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar 31 December (KNB): Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh on Friday said that 182 militants were killed in 100 operations in J&K this year. 

DGP, while addressing media in Jammu, extended greetings to all on the eve a new year and said that the year 2021 had been a successful year for J&K police, security forces and people of the UT.

He said they have bent over backwards to give a more peaceful environment to the people. “I feel happy to say that our efforts have been successful, and to a very extent, the security parameters have become far better from previous years,” said DGP Dilbag Singh.

Singh said that in the year 2021, 182 militants of different outfits were killed by forces in 100 operations in which 44 were top militants which includes 26 commanders of LeT, 10 of Jaish, 7 of HM and 1 of Al-Badr.

He further said that militancy had been a scourge for J&K and added that 80 militants were arrested in 2021. DGP also said that 30,000 criminal cases were registered in J&K, in which 15,500 cases were registered in Jammu and 14,500 in Kashmir.

As per DGP Singh 20 policemen lost their lives this year and were paid rich tributes by him. (KNB)
