Srinagar, April 14 (KNB): Following the concerns on global level over Kathua incident and CM Mehbooba’s threatening communication to break alliance, the right-wing party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu based cabinet ministers were forced to tender resignations, a party source in New Delhi told Kashmir News Bureau.

Pleading anonymity a reliable source in BJP told KNB that Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga were forced to tender the resignations by BJP high command over their alleged involvement in support of the Kathua Rape and Murder case accused.

“The decision is aimed to divert the attention of heightened public anger over issues of Kathua Rape and Murder case and alleged involvement of UP based BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh in Unnao rape case,” the source added.
Sources in People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said that party president and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti communicated BJP high command and asked to take strong note of their two members’ over their involvement in lending help to the accused of Kathua child rape and Murder Case. Sources said that Mehbooba also threatened to break alliance if action not taken against these two cabinet members.

“During communication the Madam CM told BJP leadership that when I can sack Haseeb Drabu over public outrage, what makes you to stop disqualify the Lal Singh and Ganga involved in lending helping hand to accused,” a top source in PDP said here.

Meanwhile, BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav in a bid to save the alliance rushed to Jammu and chaired a legislature meet at the party headquarters.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is in Srinagar where she met party legislators and senior ministers to discuss the future course of action on the Kathua rape and murder case of an eight-year-old minor girl. (KNB)
