Bijbehara Rejected Iltija Mufti, she Has No Moral Right to Question NC, Elahi
Srinagar 13 Feb(KNB) : The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been widely criticized for its role in the political and social turmoil of Jammu and Kashmir. National Conference (NC) senior leader Assad ullah Elahi strongly holding PDP responsible for the destruction and instability in the Jammu And Kashmir. He emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have placed their trust in the National Conference by giving them a strong mandate to serve and protect their rights. The failures of the PDP, particularly under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti, have left lasting scars on the Jammu and Kashmir.Elahi reminded the people of Mehbooba Mufti’s infamous “milk and toffee” remark during a press conference in 2016, which was seen as an insult to the people of Kashmir, especially the youth.
Furthermore, Assad ullah Elahi in a Statement pointed out that Mehbooba Mufti’s decision to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was a betrayal of the people’s trust. Her party, which once positioned itself as a protector of Kashmiri aspirations, ultimately facilitated the entry of BJP into the political land of Jammu and Kashmir. This alliance paved the way for the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, leading to the disempowerment of the J &K’s special status.
The consequences of this political blunder continue to haunt the people, and the PDP’s role in it is undeniable. Mehbooba Mufti’s failure is further reflected in the electoral rejection of her party.
Her daughter, Iltija Mufti, faced a humiliating defeat in Bijbehara, which is their home turf. The people of her own constituency turned their backs on the mother-daughter duo, signaling their rejection of the PDP’s policies and governance.
Assadullah Elahi asserted that after such a resounding defeat, Mehbooba Mufti and her daughter Iltija Mufti has no moral authority to speak against the National Conference or question its leadership.
The NC leader further highlighted that while the PDP’s rule was marked by chaos, betrayals, and misgovernance, the National Conference remains committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the public to remain vigilant against political parties that have historically aligned with forces working against Kashmiri interests. The overwhelming mandate given to the National Conference in recent elections is a evidence to the people’s trust in their leadership and their desire to see a stable, prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.(KNB)
