Mehbooba Mufti Urges People Not to Boycott Elections, Vows to Resist Bonded Labor Attempts in Kashmir

Anantnag, 18 April (KNB): PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, while filing her nomination papers for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir not to boycott the elections. She emphasized the importance of voting to counter the BJP’s actions against the region’s dignity, identity and resources.

Mufti stressed, “Our land, resources, jobs are being snatched away from us and there are attempts to turn Kashmiris into bonded slaves. This is our land and we will not allow its plundering at any cost. People must vote this time and vote cautiously in favor of the candidates who can represent them and speak truth to power without any fear and without any partiality.”

She highlighted the need to address the erosion of Kashmir’s identity and resources, stating, “Today, all our resources are being stripped away, and efforts are being made to turn us into bonded laborers. We will not allow this. This land and the opportunities it holds belong to us. We will not permit our identity to be eroded.”

Senior PDP leader Waheed-ur-Rahman Para echoed her sentiments, emphasizing the importance of Mufti’s representation in parliament for Kashmir’s core identity.-KNB
