Junaid Matoo Files Nomination paper for mayor post
Srinagar, November 2(KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, G A Mir while addressing a press conference on Friday claimed that the Mayor and deputy Mayor for Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will be from his party.
According to the reports, Mir said that the maximum number of independent councilors have extended their support to Congress.
He said, “Congress party has got an overwhelming support. After discussions with all our associates…we will file the papers for Mayor and deputy Mayor posts today at 4 PM.”
On the other hand, Junaid Azim Mattoo taking on twitter said, “Filed the nomination form for the post of Mayor of Srinagar today. PC and allies will be supporting independent candidate Muhammad Saleem Lone for the post of Deputy Mayor. Time to gear up for CHANGE – to deliver on our promise of a developed, clean and progressive Srinagar.”
Hence the curiosity about the Mayorship continues to grow as every state and national party are announcing their mayor candidate and claiming them as Mayor of Srinagar. (KNB)
