Masked Men Attack Bus Carrying Construction Workers in J&K’s Ramban, 4 Injured

Ramban 01 Jan (KNB): Four employees of a construction company were injured in a terrifying attack by masked men in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Wednesday.

According to reports reaching to news agency Kashmir News Bureau that the employees were on their way to a tunnelling project site in Marog when their bus was intercepted at Seri in the evening. The masked men boarded the vehicle and assaulted the occupants, leaving four employees with minor injuries ยน.

The police quickly responded to the incident and rushed the injured employees to a hospital. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulbir Singh stated that eight people have been detained for questioning in connection with the attack.

Engineer Manoj Kumar, one of the injured employees from Himachal Pradesh, recounted the horrific experience. “Two people stopped our bus, and then 10 to 15 people boarded and started beating us up. Six or seven of us were injured,” he said. Kumar emphasized that the attackers threatened them, asking why they were still working in Ramban when they should have left the area.

The SSP assured non-local employees that they need not worry, saying, “We are here to provide them with a sense of security.” The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of construction workers in the region.(KNB)
