Low Intensity Quake Felt in J&K; Epicentre in Ladakh Region

Srinagar 18 February (KNB): A low intensity earthquake was felt in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with it’s epicenter said to be in Ladakh region.

Officials said that an earthquake with it’s epicenter in Ladakh region and measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale occurred at 7.39 a.m today.

However, due to the earthquake, no loss of life or damage to property was reported in Ladakh or Jammu and Kashmir.

Pertinently, An earthquake measured 6.3 on the Richter Scale struck Tajikistan on 12th February. Strong tremors were felt across north India including Jammu and Kashmir. (KNB)
