Srinagar, 16 April: Manoj Sinha today announced that the 100-day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, recently kick started in Jammu, will start in Kashmir from May 3.
Addressing a gathering at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre, the Lieutenant Governor said the campaign will intensify efforts against drug abuse and trafficking across the region. He noted that while the Abhiyan has already begun in Jammu, it will now be rolled out in Kashmir starting from May 3.
Sinha stressed that the drug menace is a serious societal issue affecting families and youth and cannot be tackled by the administration alone. He urged people from all sections of society to actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.
“I urge people to come forward and join this campaign. With strict action by the administration and full support from the public, we can eliminate the nasha menace from our society,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that only a joint effort between the government and the people can ensure a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.(KNB)
