Srinagar 31 Jan(KNB): LG Manoj Sinha expressed profound sorrow over the unfortunate accidents that occurred in Uri, claiming the lives of seven persons.
The incidents took place in Baramulla and Kishtwar, prompting the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to address the grievous loss.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic accidents in Baramulla & Kishtwar. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” said LG Manoj Sinha.
In a bid to provide immediate support to the affected families, LG Sinha announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 5 lakh to be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the tragedies. Additionally, Rs. 1 lakh will be provided to those who sustained injuries during the unfortunate incidents.
Taking a proactive stance, LG Manoj Sinha directed the district administrations to expedite the process of offering assistance to the affected families.(KNB)
