Srinagar 17 February (KNB): A lady on Thursday tried to take her life by jumping into the Jhelum river from Cement Bridge at Qamarwari area of Srinagar.
As per an official, the lady (name withheld), a resident of Safa Kadal, Srinagar was seen by passers-by jumping into the river Jhelum from Cement Bridge to commit suicide.
It was further said that the lady was later on safely evacuated by locals from the river after promptly swinging into action, the official said.
Following the incident, police rushed to the spot and took the lady with them for legal and medical formalities. (KNB)
