Srinagar 10 January (KNB): One of the slain militants killed in the Kulgam encounter has been identified by the official as a local ultra affiliated with Al-Badr outfit.
As per IGP-K Vijay Kumar, the slain militant has been identified as Imad Wani, who was affiliated with militant outfit Al-Badr.
Kumar said while being quoted by police that Wani was a categorised militant of the Al-Badr outfit and was involved in the attack on police personnel Mushtaq Waggay in Pulwama in which he got seriously injured.
However, the officials have not yet identified the another slain militant who was killed along with Wani in the Kulgam encounter.
The encounter started yesterday in Kulgam’s Hasanpora area after the officials received a tip-off about the presence of militants there. (KNB)
