KPC Condoles Demise of Kashmir’s Veteran Editor Ghulam Nabi Shaida

Srinagar 19 January (KNB): Kashmir Press Club management expresses grief over demise of Editor and owner of Urdu daily ‘Wadi ki Awaaz’ Ghulam Nabi Shaida.

The veteran editor was not keeping well for sometime and breathed his last at his Srinagar residence on today. Shaida was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Goripora village in Pulwama.

“A brave and upright journalist, Shaida faced hardships and multiple challenges for his journalistic work. He was jailed during lifetime for his work in ‘80s. His passing away is a loss to institution of journalism,” KPC stated.

The management committee at KPC joins his colleagues and journalist fraternity to remember Ghulam Nabi Shaida for his honesty and holding to professional demands amid challenging situation.

On behalf of the fraternity, the KPC management extends sincere sympathies and solidarities with the bereaved.
“We pray Allah grant strength to them to bear the loss,” they said. (KNB)
