Khelo India: No accomadation for us, spend whole chilling night outside alleges participants

Sports Council Refuses the allegations; Says Fake News circulated by some media people

Srinagar 11 Feb(KNB): In a viral video, participants alleged sports council of mismanagement in a much hyped Khelo India sports mega event began with a face palm for organisers as participants were left in cold with no accommodation in the chilling night.

As per the viral video, participants alleged sports council for not providing accomadation and were left to fend for themselves and in the cold night in Gulmarg they had no where to go.

The sub district magistrate had to intervene and asked the organisers as to why such a callous approach for such a national event.

The SDM accused the secretary, J&K Sports Council, of mismanagement and said that the officials were no were to be seen, as sportsperson roamed roads with no where to go.

In an official communication from SDM, the magistrate said that it was ‘complete mismanagement due to unavailability of officials from the organization’.

Khelo India has been projected as a top tier sports event in the valley, due to commence in Gulmarg, and much funds come in to have it done.

Questions have been raised as to who and what happened to the organisers, and why did they not stand for the job, said a one of the sport person.

Faisal All Dar, the padma shree awardee sportsman rued the behaviour saying that it is very unfortunate, he tweeted, that ‘our athletes who came from different states to participate in khelo India Winter games Gulmarg are suffering too much’.

In a video that circulated online the sports man from India were complaining that they have no were to go.

They were provided with no accommodation in the freezing temperature, they complained.

“We came here with such enthusiasm but the state of affairs is a cruel joke,” they complained.

After the video goes viral on Social media, DC Baramulla took to her Twitter and said District Administration has pitched in to resolve any such issues.

Meanwhile, J&K Sports Council shared a video on Twitter after the incident and tweeted, “Fake news about the accommodation of the players is being circulated by some media people. J&K Sports Council is providing all possible support and help to the athletes.
This propaganda shall be duly dealt with the relevant law.” (KNB)
