JRL calls for complete shutdown tomorrow

Srinagar 10 July (KNB): Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has called for shutdown in Kashmir on Wednesday (July 10) against against the killing of a civilian during a gunfight in Kundalan village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district today.

A civilian was killed in action by security forces on protesters near the site of a gunfight in Shopian  while hundreds of youth were injured in clashes with security forces near encounter site.

A youth identied as Tamsheel Ahmad Khan of Vehil village of the district was killed when forces fired at protesters during clashes.

Taking to Twitter, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said JRL has appealed people to observe strike tomorrow “to register our protest and condemnation.”

“Kashmir turned into a graveyard of its own people by Indian forces as 3 more civilians die today and more than 50injured!young Tamseel  directly shot at,while 11th class student Ubaid succumbed to his bullets wounds,elderly Ishaq Naikoo died of cardiac arrest as news of his son being under siege reached him!,” Mirwaiz wrote on Twitter.

Mirwaiz said that the government was not even allowing Kashmiris to collectively mourn or protest the killing of “our young martyrs.” (KNB)
