J&K to Get New Film Policy in 10 Days Says LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar 12 April (KNB): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that New Film Policy will be rolled out in the coming ten days and have discussed the same with its stakeholders in the J&K and outside.

Sinha said during the two-day conference held at SKICC on Tapping of Tourism Potential of Kashmir that New Film Policy focuses on how to reclaim the golden era of the 1970s and 1980s back on the screen. He said the policy has been taken on board after discussing with its stakeholder in UT and outside.

He said that the lost culture of the ending decades of the 20th Century — during which filmmakers of Bollywood would throng to the valley for shooting their films — would be tried to retrieve back.

However, LG further said that they are also seeking to explore the new tourist destinations in the valley and are looking to get the ones suitable for the tourists by placing a proper infrastructure.

He also added that for tourists’ convenience, they are working upon things. He also appreciated that tourist numbers coming to the valley are encouraging from last year’s December despite the Covid. (KNB)
