J&K Records 4650 Covid-19 Cases in a Day; 37 Deaths

Srinagar 4 May (KNB): The Government informed that 4650 new positive cases of novel Corona virus were reported on Tuesday from Jammu and Kashmir; which is the highest number of cases recorded in a single day amid the second wave in the Union Territory.

As per the officials 1463 cases were reported from Jammu division and 3187 were reported from Kashmir division today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 191869.

Officials said that 37 Covid-19 deaths were reported from the Union Territory, out of which 25 deaths from Jammu Division and 12 were reported from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 1878 more COVID-19 patients recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 631 from Jammu Division and 1247 from Kashmir Division, officials added.

As per the Government data, out of 191869 positive cases, 37302 are Active Positive, 152109 have recovered and 2458 have died out which 1006 Covid patients have died in Jammu division and 1452 in Kashmir division.

As per the official data, Srinagar has 48095 positive cases (including 11311 cases reported today) with 10748 Active Positive and 36782 have recovered which include 701 cases recovered today. The total death toll in the Summer capital has taken to 565 so far. (KNB)
