J&K Police Ranked No. 1 in NDPS Detentions, No. 3 in Property Attachments Nationwide: DGP Nalin Prabhat

Srinagar, May 14 (KNB): Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat on Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has recorded a massive increase in action against narcotics and terror-related properties, securing top national rankings in multiple categories during 2025.

Addressing a press conference, the DGP said that from 2023 to 2026, there has been a 12-fold increase in the attachment of properties linked to unlawful and criminal activities. He stated that J&K Police has been ranked third nationally in property attachment cases during the year 2025.

The DGP said that J&K Police ranked number one in the country in conducting major NDPS detentions in 2025. He informed that 240 major NDPS detentions have been carried out so far as part of the intensified crackdown against drug networks operating in the Union Territory.

Speaking on the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,” the DGP said that there has been nearly a seven-fold increase in NDPS cases compared to the corresponding period last year. He further said that 724 NDPS cases have been registered and 806 persons involved in narcotics-related activities have been arrested during the period.(KNB)
