Srinagar, March 18(KNB): In a significant development, Amran Farooq, a 2008-batch officer of the Jammu & Kashmir Police Service, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a tenure of four years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Farooq’s induction into the CBI has been approved by the competent authority.
As per the order, Farooq’s appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Farooq, who is currently serving as Additional SP in the Criminal Investigation Department’s Special Branch (CID SB) in Kashmir, will now join the prestigious CBI, India’s premier investigative agency.(KNB)
