J&K Govt to Formate New Media Policy, Includes Social Media Platforms

Srinagar 18 March(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir is getting a new media policy that will include social media platforms, news websites, and web portals. The goal is to keep up with the changing media landscape and follow standards set by the Indian government.

In a reply to MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, Government said that, This new policy aims to create a consistent narrative about the government’s work in the media. It’s a shift towards more controlled communication, with a focus on emerging platforms.

The government also said that the Srinagar Press Club was vacated due to a dispute among its members. The building is now occupied by the Jammu & Kashmir Police. Interestingly, the registration of the Kashmir Press Club has been put on hold, but another club, the Press Club of Kashmir, has been registered, they said.(KNB)
