Information Department Jammu issues notice to newspapers, warns over Plagiarism

Srinagar 19 October (KNB): Department of Information & Public Relations (Jammu) have warned the newspaper publications about the act of plagiarism.

In a notice issued on Saturday, Joint Director Information (Jammu), Namrita Dogra stated that there shall be no release of advertisement to such newspaper publications and all those (newspapers) shall be recommended for De-empanelment to the Empanelment Committee (EC) and proceeding under Law shall also be initiated against them. 

It further stated that all the newspaper publications are directed to abstain from plagiarism, otherwise strict actions as warranted under the Media Policy-2020 shall be initiated against the defaulters. 

It further added that the circulation claims of newspapers especially daily black & white, weeklies, Bi-weeklies, fortnightlies and monthly newspapers/ magazines, doesn’t match with their physical verification.

All the newspapers/ publications are hereby directed to crosscheck their claims and submit actual and correct details to the office within three days, the notice stated. (KNB)
