J&K LG Manoj Sinha Puts Bifurcation Speculations to Rest

Srinagar 11 June (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday put an end to all speculation about bifurcation of the Union Territory and said that these are nothing but rumours spread by some people to meet their petty political interests.

Speaking to a nationally broadcast TV channel, Lt Governor said that bifurcation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are nothing more than just rumours and some people are uneased due to peace prevailing in the region.

He said that only selfish people spread rumours and some people are doing it to fulfil their petty political interests. He also took responsibility of what he said and emphasized that people understood all that he intended to convey.

Moreover, regarding the Troop movement in the valley, he said that paramilitary forces were on election duty in West Bengal and are now being redeployed. As per LG Manoj Sinha around 60 companies were allotted to the Union Territory J&K and are now returning.

He also said that troop movement is routine when it comes to the Amarnath Yatra in J&K and the decision to conduct the annual pilgrimage will be taken after analysing the Covid-19 situation.

Regarding the Assembly Polls in the Union Territory, while mentioning about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement at Lal Qila that once delimitation commission would finish its exercise, J&K will witness Assembly polls, LG Sinha said that let the delimitation commission submits it’s report.
