Kashmir News Bureau

Srinagar, Aug 10 (KNB): In a significant development, aimed to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir, at least 14 Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) called on People Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone here today.
Highly placed sources told Kashmir News Bureau that 14 MLAs Friday met People Conference Chairman and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone at an undisclosed location and hold threadbare deliberations on the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir State.

The meeting between Sajad and MLAs is according to source a part of the series of meetings held in earlier to form the fresh government in state. Earlier BJP National General Secretary Ram Madav also held an important meeting with Sajad Lone at his residence.
Sources said that among the 14 MLAs who called Sajad today are mostly the rebel members of PDP, who earlier expressed dissent with PDP and erstwhile Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
A political analyst talking to Kashmir News Bureau said “tomorrow rebel leaders of PDP supporting Sajad Lone to form the government along with BJP members can’t be ruled out,” adding, certainly there are high chances that the
Jammu and Kashmir state will witness unexpected political development in near future.

Pertinent to mention here, the 87-member house has 28 MLAs from PDP, 25 from BJP, 15 from the National Conference, 12 from the Congress, and the rest from smaller groups and independents.
On June 19, this year, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti resigned after the BJP announced that it was pulling out of the alliance with her Peoples Democratic Party that has ruled the State since March 2015. (KNB)
