JeM module busted in Pulwama, 3 held: Police

Srinagar, Apr 01 (KNB): Three alleged militant associates were arrested after a module of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) was busted in South Kashmir Pulwama district on Friday, Police official said.

“Police alongwith 55RR and 182/183 battalion CRPF in Pulwama have busted a module linked with proscribed outfit JeM and arrested three militant associates,” police spokesman told in a statement to KNB.

He identified them as Owais Altaf, son of Altaf Hussain Ganai of Jandwal, Aqib Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmad Mir of Gudoora, Waseem Ahmad Pandit, son of Gh Mohammad Pandith of Karimabad Pulwama.

The investigating team also learnt that they were working for JeM outfit and involved in providing logistics, managing transportation to militants

He added that one AK rifle, three magzines, 69 AK rounds and one grenade was recovered on their disclosure.

A case under FIR number 77/2022 was registered in Police station Pulwama under relevant sections of law and investigation initiated, he said.(KNB)
