Srinagar 27 March (KNB): Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been opened for the light motor vehicle passengers on Saturday for traffic from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa after the closing of traffic on NHW-44 due to landslides at Samroli on Friday.
Officials on Saturday said that “Today subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.”
However, they further said that HMVs shall be allowed from zig (Qazigund) towards Jammu tail of up LMVs cross Banihal. TCU Srinagar should liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing HMVs.
The traffic police have advised people to undertake journeys on NHW-44 only after confirming the status of the road from traffic control units. (KNB)
