I’ve Been Illegally Detained Again; Want to Visit Families Evicted From Their Homes Says Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar 8 December (KNB): Former Chief Minister and President of Jammu and Kashmir’s Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti said that she has been illegally detained again and is not allowed to visit the families who were evicted from their homes in Budgam.

Mehbooba Mufti tweeted a video in which she stands by the locked entrance of her residence and takes a jab at the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
She said, “They tell people that they haven’t detained me, later even the Lt Governor (Manoj Sinha) says that I’ve not been detained. ‘ye kya tamasha horha hai? (What show is going on here?)”

She further went on to batter the locked gate and furiously asked, “Open the door? I’ve to go outside, unlock the door. How can you detain me illegally? Show me the papers? Under which law have you detained me?”

Vice President of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration tweeted the video with the comment, “Illegal detention has become GOIs favourite go to method for muzzling any form of opposition. I’ve been detained once again because I wanted to visit Budgam, where hundreds of families were evicted from their homes.” (KNB)
