Srinagar 18 June (KNB): India reported 62,480 daily novel coronavirus cases and 1587 people lost their lives to the deadly virus in last 24 hours, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday.
As per morning update by MoHFW, India’s active caseload has declined to 7,98,656, and has gone less than 8 lakh mark after 73 days.
2,85,80,647 total recoveries have been registered across the country so far, out of which 88,977 patients recovered during last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health said that daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 36th consecutive day and the recovery rate has increased to 96.03 per cent.
Moreover, weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent and stands currently at 3.80 per cent, the Health Ministry said, adding that daily positivity rate is at 3.24 per cent which stands less than 5 per cent for 11 consecutive days.
As per the Health Ministry the testing capacity has substantially ramped up and 38.71 crore total tests have been conducted. 26.89 Crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. (KNB)
