India Reports 44,111 New Covid-19 Cases; 738 Deaths

Srinagar 3 July (KNB): The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday said that India reports 44,111 new novel coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 3,05,02,362.

As per the 8 am update by the Health Ministry, 783 deaths were reported across the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatalities due to the deadly virus to 4,01,050.

India’s active caseload has declined to 4,95,533 and is less than 5 lakh after 97 days, the Health Ministry said, adding that the active cases constitute only 1.62 per cent of total cases.

There has been 2,96,05,779 total recoveries across the country so far, out of which 57,477 patients have recovered during last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.

The MoHFW said that daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 51st consecutive days and the recovery rate has increased to 97.06 per cent.

Weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently stands at 2.50 per cent, the Ministry said, adding that the daily positivity rate stands at 2.35 per cent, which is less than 5 per cent for 26 consecutive days.

Moreover, the MoHFW said that testing capacity substantially ramped up  and a total of 41.64 crore tests have been conducted. 34.46 Crore Vaccine Doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. (KNB)
