Srinagar 20 August (KNB): India reported 36,571 new novel coronavirus cases and 540 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total fatalities due to the deadly virus to 4,33,589, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, India’s active caseload stands at 3,63,605 which is the lowest in 150 days and the active cases account for 1.12 per cent of the total cases, which stands lowest since the March 2020.
The Health Ministry said that there have been 36,555 recoveries in the last 24 hours which has increased the total recoveries in the country to 3,15,61,635.
The recovery rate has increased to 97.54 per cent, which is highest since March 2020, they added.
As per the MoHFW, India’s weekly positivity rate stands at 1.93 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 56 days and the daily positivity rate stands at 1.94 per cent, which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 25 days.
Moreover, the health ministry informed that 57.22 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive and a total of 50.26 crore Covid-19 tests have been conducted so far across the nation. (KNB)
