Hyderpora Encounter: JKNPP Demands Judicial Inquiry, Says Govt. Owes Explanation to People of J&K

Srinagar 19 November (KNB): Prof. Bhim Singh, the President of J&K National Panthers Party Friday demanded a judicial inquiry by the sitting Supreme Court Judge on the killings in Hyderpora encounter on Monday, November 15.

He said that the entire mischief of the Govt. in J&K is obvious as the police took the slain civilians about 100 kms. away to bury in Handwara, District of Kupwara. Why was that necessary?

“The Govt. owes an explanation to the people of J&K in particular and to the nation as a whole about the killings of the civilians and the method of their burial nearly 100 kms away,” said Singh.

He further said that the deeply hurt and angry people of J&K and every citizen of India is looking for an answer. “This has been the only voice of today,” he said.

JKNPP Working Committee strongly appealed to all opposition parties in J&K to join hands and fight this kind of brutal rule, which innocent people of J&K and particularly in the Valley of Kashmir have been facing for years without being given a chance to their own representatives. “J&K has lost its Statehood, its Assembly is dissolved for years and courts, other government offices remain closed for different reasons including Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

Singh said that the wrath of people of the Valley who were victims of the atrocities resulting in death, forced the state Lt. Governor to change track. As a result of the protest by the people the government was forced to exhume the bodies of Altaf Bhat, r/o Barzulle and Dr. Mudasir Gul, r/o Rawalpora and handed over the dead bodies to the families who were able to put their innocent loved ones to rest in peace.

He said that India is a democracy but the way it is governed today is leaving the most dictatorial rulers of anytime behind, creating fear, insecurity and confusion in the minds of the people, particularly in J&K, which has been an integral part of India and now Fundamental Rights are applicable to the people of J&K also since August 5, 2019. This attempt of the rulers can destroy the country if action is not taken to stop it, he said.

Singh said that JKNPP Working Committee led by its President Prof. Bhim Singh demands that an inquiry by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court be conducted. “Due compensation to all those who were killed in similar circumstances without authority of law or in violation of Article 21 of the Constitution of India,” he said.
