Hilal Lone Booked Under UAPA For Alleged Hate Speech During DDC Campaigning Last Year

Bandipora 16 February (KNB): Hilal Akbar Lone, son of National Conference’s leader Akbar Lone, was booked under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) on Tuesday for alleged hate speech during DDC election campaigning last year in Bandipora district of Kashmir.

Hilal — some months ago interrupted and detained by the police while he was travelling towards his home in Bandipora from Srinagar — was on February 16 booked under UAPA.

However, the officials said that an FIR was registered against Hilal under relevant sections of law of UAPA.

It is pertinent to mention that the Hilal was in detention following his ‘hate speech’ during the District Development Council election rally in Kashmir. (KNB)
