High-Density Orchid Farming Awareness Camp Organizes Agricultural Innovation in Pulwama

Pulwama, 10 December (KNB): In a groundbreaking move towards modernizing farming practices, the Save Youth Save Future Foundation in collaboration with Apple Care Agro Boonura Pulwama and Kheti Yari Team, orchestrated a High-Density Orchid Farming Awareness Camp on Saturday December 9th, 2023.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, Renowned orchidist Mr. Jittu Chauhan took center stage, emphasizing the need for scientific cultivation methods to revolutionize farming in Kashmir.

Notable figures including SYSF Chairman Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Zonal President Mudasir Ahmed Dar, Women’s Wing head Anika Nazir and local activist Mir Mushtaq graced the event.

The camp commenced with Mr. Chauhan advocating the integration of modern technology in apple cultivation to enhance competitiveness in international markets. Anika Nazir championed gender inclusivity, urging educated women to consider scientific farming as a promising career.

An interactive session led by Mr. Chauhan delved into the scientific cultivation of new plants, focusing on maximizing crop yield and minimizing mortality. A Q&A session allowed apple growers to seek expert advice, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

In the final segment, Mr. Chauhan outlined strategies to boost returns for apples in domestic and international markets, with a special emphasis on engaging Pulwama’s youth in modern apple farming for self-employment.

SYSF Chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat echoed the “Vocal for Local” slogan, emphasizing financial independence, government support, and encouraging youth to innovate in high-density farming. He expressed optimism about the active participation of youth in modern apple farming, recognizing the joint efforts of the government and the community.

Local activist Mir Mushtaq played a pivotal role in facilitating the event, ensuring a seamless flow and engaging the audience in discussions about the future of farming in Pulwama.
