High Altitude Warfare School makes Night SKI Training Facility for solidiers of indian army

 

Srinagar, Jan 02(KNB):On 31 Dec 2018, Maj Gen Atul Kaushik, SM, VSM Commandant High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) flagged the beginning of night SKI training facility for soldiers of Indian Army.

The night training skiing area is a first of its kind in India to facilitate and enhance capability for prolong training hours even during night hours by member of Army SKI team and the servicemen undergoing training courses at HAWS.

Night skiing training enhances Indian Army’s combat mobility in snow bound terrain for troops deployed along Northern Borders.Further this training facility enables the Army solidier Team athletes to practice during night as per actual competition conditions at International championships.

The night Ski training facility enhances the modernisation of training infrastructure available in HAWS, Gulmarg.

During the inaugural ceremony Mr Abbas Wani, President of Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir and other office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir Ski Association were present to reiterate strong bonding between the two organisation.(KNB)
