Srinagar 23 February (KNB): Police on Wednesday provided a succour to two south Kashmir ladies by taking them to a hospital amid blocked roads due to snowfall.
Police said that they received two distress calls from Pulwama’s Abhama Rajpora area and Lelhar Kakapora area in which callers expressed their inability to evacuate ladies to hospitals who were in need of medical intervention.
They said that amid heavy accumulation of snow at Abhama area of Rajpora Pulwama, a pregnant lady was assisted by police to reach hospital as she was in acute need of medical help.
“Similarly after receiving another distress call, a lady was injured due to the collapse of a tin shed at Lelhar Kakapora and a police team retrieved the injured lady and helped her to reach the Hospital for treatment,” said police in a statement.
“General Public of the area, especially family members of the pregnant lady and injured lady, thanked and hailed the efforts of Pulwama Police for prompt action and timely assistance in such a crucial juncture,” they said. (KNB)
