Baramulla 20 July(KNB): Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) would like to issue a clarifying statement to the media and the general public regarding its association with the newly formed entity claiming to be the “Working Journalists Association.”
On Thursday 20 July 2023, a meeting of Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) was convened in Kunzer, under the guidance of President Baramulla Working Journalist Association.
The meeting saw the active participation of all members of Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association, (GTWJA) who have been diligently serving the community for several years.
The Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) has a long-standing history and has been operating under the auspices of the Baramulla Working Journalist Association, comprised of esteemed members representing National News Channels, and Newspapers. Over the years, the association has played a vital role in upholding journalistic integrity and disseminating credible information to the public.
In April 2023, the elections for the Sub-division level Association of Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) were conducted under the supervision of SDM Gulmarg and SDPO Tangmarg, along with the presence of the President of Baramulla Working Journalist Association. During these elections, Mr. Bhat Mudasir was duly elected as the President of the Association for a two-year term.
However, we have recently become aware of the existence of a new entity in Tangmarg, self-proclaimed as the “Working Journalists Association,” comprising individuals from social media backgrounds. We wish to emphasize that the Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association and the Baramulla Working Journalist Association have no affiliation or association with this newly formed group.
We urge the administration, the general public, and the media fraternity not to be misled or confused by the claims made by the new association. The Gulmarg/Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) operates solely under the umbrella of the Baramulla Working Journalist Association and will continue to uphold its commitment to unbiased journalism and responsible reporting.(KNB)
