Srinagar, June 04 (KNB): Militants today afternoon lobbed a grenade at Shopian in Batapora area which exploded inflicting injuries to several civilians and few Policemen.
The grenade exploded along the roadside amid the civilian population. Around 12 civilians are reportedly injured in this explosion. A young girl has received critical injuries in this explosion while four policemen also sustained injuries in this incident.
The injured have been shifted to nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police has initiated investigation in the instant matter.
Pertinently, amid the high alert in Kashmir Valley the militants so far lobbed some 12 grenades in parts of South Kashmir and in summer capital Srinagar, resulting the injuries of many people including three CRPF personnel.
The militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) claimed the responsibility in many attacks. (KNB)
